Configure Custom Fields and Values

To force users to enter specific information within the Workflow Client before they print, create custom fields and corresponding values. A custom field can capture any data you may find useful for printer management. For example, you can use a custom field to have the user indicate if the print job is billable or not, or to enter free-form text describing the contents or purpose of the print job.

Important: You can configure Workflow to display custom fields in the Workflow Client at the Application, User Profile, or Printer Profile level. The custom fields used are determined by application, then user profile, then printer profile. If none of these settings change the custom field settings, then the entire list of custom fields is used. Refer to When to Use a Custom Field for further information.
