Embedded for Xerox Overview

Users installing Embedded for Xerox must have Administrator rights.

Prerequisites

  • Workflow 7.2.x or newer must be installed. See WorkflowSystem Requirements.
  • Xerox EIP-enabled device(s), EIP 2.5 or greater
  • Device Administration password must be set

  • SNMP v1/v2 enabled and set to default public and private communities

    • This allows the Xerox registration process to configure authentication settings on the device; if SNMP v1 or v2 is not enabled configuration of the Xerox device will have to be manual

    • SNMP v3 is not supported for the registration process to configure authentication on the Xerox devices

    • If default SNMP communities are not being used see guide on modifying embedded.config file to reflect community configuration

 

Installation workflow

  1. Confirm Prerequisites (above)

  2. Install the Embedded for Xerox installation package to the server

  3. Deploy the Embedded for Xerox package to the MFPs.

  4. Configure the MFP via the Xerox web interface

  5. Configure the desired functionality on the MFP in Workflow
