General System Settings

General Settings affect report configuration, custom field search priority, and virtual printer filter options.

Select Administration from the ribbon.
Select Settings → System.
1. In the General section, change one or more of the following options.
  - Locale: During installation of the Workflow server, the installer selected the locale where the server is situated, and thereby defines the regional settings, such as date/time format, and numeric formats, for background services and report generation. and the language used in the interface.
    - The display language depends upon the browser language setting. To view the Printanista Workflow web interface in another supported language, the browser locale needs to be configured to the desired language. The language used in the web interface will be served in the language set in the browser, regardless to which locale is defined in Printanista Workflow.
      - Percentage modifier option: This setting affects how Workflow handles job cost calculations when multiple cost percentage modifiers are encountered. Choose one option:
        Apply As We Go: Apply each percentage modifier to the cost in the order that it is encountered. For example, if there is a 50% modifier, then another 25% modifier, the final job cost is reduced by half, and then further reduced by an additional one quarter.
        Legacy: Calculate percentage modifiers the same way as legacy versions of Print Audit 6. This option is provided for backwards compatibility only. It is highly recommended to choose one of the other options.
        Use Highest: Use only the highest modifier encountered. For example, if you had a 50% cost modifier and a 200% cost modifier both applicable for the job, only the 200% modifier is applied to the job cost.
        Use Lowest: Use only the lowest modifier encountered. For example, if you had a 50% cost modifier and a 200% cost modifier both applicable for the job, only the 50% modifier is applied to the job cost.
      - Custom field default search: Determines behavior for searches conducted within Custom Fields → Search. When 'Contains text' is selected, the search engine will locate all instances of the search text regardless of where the text is found in the string. When 'Starts with text' is selected, the search will only locate a result if it matches at the beginning of the string.
      - Decimal places for costs: Set the number of decimal places required when assigning costs to printers, users and applications. Choose 2, 3, or 4 decimal places. This setting is also used within reporting, although you can override the setting when generating reports.
      - Virtual printer filter: Used for virtual devices only, this settings controls what the system detects as a virtual/file based device. Type in the field and enter the filter you need. Separate each filter with a comma. When users print to a file, Workflow determines printer matching based on first looking at the port to check if it is a file path. If not a path, Workflow checks this option and compares the entry to the device name.
