Enable Release Codes
You must enable Release Codes in Workflow before you can configure auto-generated codes or allow the user to enter their own code after submitting a print job to a secure queue.
- Select Administration from the ribbon.
- Select Secure → Settings.
- Under the Release Code section, set the Use Release Codes option to Yes. The remaining options in the Release Codes section will now be editable:
-
Use release codes: Enable this option to enable the use of release codes in Workflow. When release codes are enabled on a queue, users must enter a release code at the MFP to release a secure print job. When enabling this option, also set the Code length below. See Configure Release Codes.
-
Anonymous release: Controls if a user must have a Printanista Workflow account before they can release using a release code. When enabling this option, also set the Anonymous jobs expire in field.
-
Auto Release Code length: Set the length of Auto generated release codes. When an anonymous user submits a secure job to the system a release code will be generated. This field controls the maximum length of the release code but does not affect the length of manually entered release codes.
- In addition, consider adjusting these options within the General section:
-
Jobs expire in (days): If a print job sits in the secure queue without release after this set number of days, the job is deleted from the queue.
-
Anonymous jobs expire in (minutes): If the guest user has not released the anonymous print job within this set number of minutes, the job is deleted from the queue.
-
Max allowable jobs expire in (days): Print jobs that sit unreleased in the secure queue are deleted after this set number of days.
